Just this week, our annual Toolkit of posters and flyers has been updated to reflect dates, pair themes, and free audiobook titles for this year. The opening date remains 30 April. We do anticipate having a preseason option with some related podcast material and will update you on that. In the meantime, make those JPG versions in the Toolkit a part of your library, school, house of worship, and club quarters’ websites. You can print the PDF versions to hang in windows facing out to passersby.
A special note to fans in Canada, the United Kingdom, and worldwide: this year’s 26 free audiobooks will be available everywhere without geographic restriction on any of them. Call it prescience, call it a happy fluke; we’re really glad this program can be served in its entirety to teens worldwide in 2020.
We continue to share, especially on Twitter (@audiobookSYNC), any verifiable and helpful links we find to online content teens and high school classes might find both useful and engaging right now. These links include online resources of literature available for free, publisher and platform announcements of lowered or no fee access during the COVID-19 pandemic, and tools many of you are building to help your peers.
We’re also looking for teen podcasters who might be interested in helping us share both our program news and their own experiences with audiobooks as reading options. Please DM us on Twitter with any leads.
Thank you all for the patience you are showing us and others in your life during this trying time.
