Coming in 2020: New Nonfiction and Award-winning Fiction, Too

Written by Francisca Goldsmith on Thursday, January 30, 2020
We're continuing to thank all the publishers who make the AudiobookSYNC program possible with great listening selections for teens. One of our generous returning publishers is Brilliance Publishing, who again this year is providing audiobooks they’ve produced from a couple different book publishers, including Candlewick. Oasis Audio, another longtime SYNC supporter, is also returning for another summer of SYNC audiobook giveaways.

The 20th Century's Most Famous Wall

Written by Francisca Goldsmith on Thursday, May 23, 2019
From 1961 to 1989, a barbed wire-topped concrete wall divided Berlin, Germany, preventing free movement of family members, friends, and anyone engaged in daily business from crossing the more than 800-year-old city. Our audiobook pair this week bookends the night that wall was built with the call for its destruction in a speech by a U.S. President. With the topic of border wall building frequently in today’s news, we think this visit to the recent past is in order.

It’s Week 4 of AudiobookSYNC’s free audiobook program! This week, the pair of audiobooks you can download for free and to keep invites listeners to consider what might be happening around them. Stepping away from attending to our own self-interest to notice how others are affected by circumstances and events is a big step toward developing empathy.
