That’s Brilliance!

One of our contributing publishers who annually steps up to provide a whole handful of free audiobooks for teen listeners is Brilliance Publishing. This year, they’re doing it again and oh my, the audiobooks coming your way from them!

Meg Medina (pictured above) is fresh from winning the Newbery Award earlier this week. For SYNC, Brilliance and Candlewick Press are collaborating to bring YAQUI DELGADO WANTS TO KICK YOUR ASS to teen listeners. Read by Roxanne Hernandez, this is one of several #OwnVoices titles on our 2019 roster.

Also coming to listeners thanks to the collaboration between Brilliance and Candlewick are a couple of teen thrillers. THE GOLDEN DAY, by Australian author Ursula Dubosarsky, is performed by Kate Rudd, who has contributed to the listening experiences of teens in past SYNC seasons.  Canadian author Tim Wynne-Jones is an author who may already be familiar to North American teens.  MacLeod Andrews performs both narrator voices and the other characters, too, in this adrenalin-pumping story of two tear-away kids on the streets of Toronto.

Brilliance is also providing listeners with THE NAME OF THE STAR, by Maureen Johnson and performed by Nicola Barber.  When the heroine here goes abroad from Louisiana for a year in London, she finds mystery, history, romance, and more—including a supernatural twist in her own and in listeners’ lives.

Thanks, Brilliance Publishing, for serving up so much excitement SYNC listeners can anticipate for this summer!
