From Scholastic, we are excited to announce SYNC participants will receive Francisco X. Stork’s DISAPPEARED, performed by Roxana Ortega and Christian Barillas. Bill Konigsberg’s THE MUSIC OF WHAT HAPPENS also arrives with a pair of narrators, Joel Froomkin and AnthonyRey Perez. Indeed, Scholastic’s choices show how dynamic #OwnVoices in audiobook format can be, with narrators as well as authors bringing lived experience to their characters.
Hachette Audio’s contributions to SYNC this year span time past and time future. Kim Stanley Robinson’s NEW YORK 2140 explores what could be in store for us on our environmentally challenged planet. This is a full cast production featuring audiobook veterans Suzanne Toren, Robin Miles, and Michael Crouch among them. Hachette’s second audiobook offering is historical fiction that takes us back to 19th century London with STALKING JACK THE RIPPER, by Kerri Maniscalco, with James Patterson, and narrated by Nicola Barber.
Thank you to both Hachette Audio and Scholastic for these fine contributions to listening readers!
If you’re getting anxious to know more about how SYNC will be delivering free audiobooks this summer, you can check our website’s Frequently Asked Questions page which we update continuously as new details become firmed. One super important detail: all 26 titles will be available worldwide this year, so no need to figure out if you have access based on your geographic location. Hurray!
