This summer, AudiobookSYNC participants will have access to two theater pieces. One is fiction while the other acquires its script straight from the record of a court case that altered public education almost a century ago.

LA Theater Works has generously donated both DONNY'S BRAIN and THE GREAT TENNESSEE MONKEY TRIAL to our 2016 season. In the former, we find ourselves in a hospital room as a man awakens after a car accident, confused both by recent events and by the beautiful young woman at his bedside. You can search #DonnysBrain on Twitter to see what live theater-goers thought about this story.

THE GREAT TENNESSEE MONKEY TRIAL, on the other hand, is ripped right from American court history, specifically from the case that decided whether school teachers can practice intellectual freedom in the classroom. You're probably familiar with Inherit the Wind, the play by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee that dramatized the Scopes Trial. In this new stage production, the trial transcript itself has been put to the service of the actors' lines.

So, there you have it! Two plays coming coming to #SYNC16--and we hope you're coming, too!
