This is the second year I have participated in this program and love it! I wish at the end they offered a day where you could download any that you missed but I can’t complain because the publishers are being extremely generous as it is. Thank you!

    1. afadmin

Oh, that would be a great idea! But…sadly, we only have two delivery download slots per day/week so currently it would not be possible. Are you getting email or text reminders? Sign-up in the right column so you do nto miss out on any new titles!

  2. Nic

I love Sync, and recommend it all the time to patrons at the library where I work! I’ve been impressed by the quality of your recordings in the past, and am eagerly snapping up this summer’s titles. Thanks, and keep up the awesomeness!

    1. afadmin

Thank you for the awesomeness of your compliment!

  3. Lissa Smith

    I love to read and I love the summer reading program you have. The cost of free fits my finances considering I don’t have any. I think what you are doing is awesome! My mom’s always on me about being exposed to more classic books. I just found them boring. But the way you pair them up with a related current book enhances my reading experience and get my mom off my back. Not to mention they are fun to listen to while walking or just sitting around the house with nothing to do. I can let my mind wonder and develop the scenes in my mind’s eyes as the audio plays. It bring the book more to life. So like my mom said;

Thank you so very much! :-)

My only suggestion, :-) could you start a school year program? Maybe one that cost very little to join so that we could enjoy a modern tale combined with an enhancing classic during the school year as well? You could continue it weekly or on a bi-weekly basics! All I am asking is you keep your mind open to the idea! :-D!

    I <3 SYNC!

    1. afadmin

Macy, because of your fabulous note, we WILL consider it.

  4. Lissa Smith

My 12-year-old is an avid reader of today’s young-adult books. I have never before been able to get her to show interest in classic books. However, for the second year in a roll SYNC has achieved the impossible. Not only is Macy being exposed to classic literature but she is enjoying it! Her only complaint is that the program runs only during the summer.

As a mother on a very limited budget, your program is a God send. Also it’s also a wonderful program that keep the children’s mind stimulated during the summer.

Again, thank you so much for the wonderful program!

    1. afadmin

Lissa, you just made a year’s worth of work on this program worth it. That is EXACTLY what we hope happens…

  5. Juju at Tales of Whimsy.com

Thank you for this. It’s truly amazing. I can’t wait to listen and review all of these.

    1. afadmin

“truly amazing” indeed! The production quality and voice talent on these audiobooks floors me!

  6. Joanna

On the schedule of downloads is a TBA for the week of 26th July – 8th August and on the list of restrictions there’s “Romeo and Juliet”. I wonder whether this is the TBA title for that week. I ask because a teacher wants resources on Shakespeare and this would be a great addition for us.

We have now distributed a version of the student reminder cards to the pigeon holes of all our staff members and regular notices into our school Bulletin will encourage students to download the books.

    1. afadmin

Thanks for noticing! All the materials have been updated on the Toolkit to reflect the addition of LOCOMOTION by Jacqueline Woodson fo 7/26-8/8. ROMEO & JULIET is free to those who sign-up for email updates. Look for that announcement soon.

  7. Leigh Ann

This is an amazing offer!! I love audiobooks and usually find myself in the middle of multiple books, 1 paper/ebook and 1 audio. I have a book review blog and I will be updating weekly to remind my readers to download these books. You can’t beat free, especially when it’s something you’ve had on your wish list already!

    1. afadmin

Thanks for listening AND a zillion thanks for sharing it!

  8. Heather

Great program. I have downloaded my first audiobooks this morning. I wrote a post on my blog, and have schedualed reminders for my readers for the rest of the summer. I don’t want to miss a book. I’ll be out of the country for a couple of weeks and am hoping the books will be available there. won’t be bringing my laptop but should be able to download them to my Blackberry Playbook.

Will there be a forum where we can comment/discuss these audio books and where we can make comments on the program in general? I’d like to add a link to my blog in the event that my readers want to have their say.

    Link to my post:

    1. afadmin

Heather, you are a SYNC heroine! We are SO very pleased that you are listening are you are bringing your readers along for the ride. As for discussion, we have left the Comments field open on every page and title. We are hoping to conversation happens there…

As for travel, we do block IP addresses of certain countries when the publisher requires it. You can see if the country you are visiting is blocked from the particular vacation week title here:

BUT, we THINK your Blackberry will let you in regardless.

  9. Samantha Jean

I am so excited! If it hadn’t been for Stephen King, I would probably not have fallen so in love with audiobooks. But, in his On Writing book, he said audiobooks count as reading and that he never goes anywhere without a book in one format or another. I figured, if it’s good enough for Stephen King…

Well, I fell in love! I can’t get enough of audiobooks and am super psyched about downloading these audiobooks, several of which have been in my TBR pile for way too long. Thank you SO much!

    1. afadmin

If you are a King fan, I think you will love the richness of THE AMULET OF SAMARKAND and SKULDUGGERY PLEASANT. Don’t miss them!

  10. KAT

What format will the audiobooks come in? I hope my daughter’s Kindle Fire can play them….

    1. afadmin

      Ultimately a MP3…

  11. Savannah

Will these downloads require a credit card? I’d like to tell our local teens about them, but don’t want them to get sucked into ordering things they might not intend to.

    1. afadmin

Thanks for your note! There is no credit card needed. They will need to enter an email to verify themselves as an individual, but no personal information and certainly no credit card info will be taken.

  12. Sana @ Breathing Books

This is by far the best thing i’ve heard about since the summers officially began. This is going to be awesome!

    1. afadmin

      We are also QUITE excited!

  13. Jaclyn

How do you sign up for this?

    1. afadmin

You can sign up for ALERTS on SYNC title releases via text message or via email in the right hand column, but otherwise the titles will be start rolling on 6/14 and there is no need to sign up to revive them, they will simply be on this site.

  14. Joanna

I wonder whether there could be a more gender-balanced list next year? Near as I can tell, of the 20 authors on offer, only 4 of them are female. Perhpas it was weighted theother in previous years…?

    1. afadmin

Thanks for your comment, Joanna. The gender of the author has not come into play with our decisions in the past. In the Young ADult Category, there are in fact 6 male authors and 4 female authors. What I DO look at is the balance of characters. I was worried on the opposite side that we have 6 strong female leads, and only 4 male main characters. As for the Classic pairings, one struggles for both female authors and characters there, but so goes the cannon…

  15. Hope

wow i can’t wait to get reading

  16. Victoria

Thank you sooo much!! I want to listen to read Grapes of Wrath And other classics but am just to occupied by other books.

    1. afadmin

Download them and save them for later. They don’t expire!

  17. Satsukinob

Its gonna be an all day listening to these audiobooks.. Excited for it . Thanks.

  18. Joan

This is going to be promoted on my school library website!

    1. afadmin

      Thank you!!

  19. Lisa

Wow! What an awesome list. I can’t wait to hear some of my favorite reads!

  20. Kathleen

So psyched that the Rupert Degas reading of Skulduggery Pleasant is one of the available Recordings! It’s a terrific performance.

    1. afadmin

It is one of my absolute favorites as well!

    2. Michelle

Yes! Love the Skulduggery Pleasant series. Hooray!

  21. Joanna

In the southern hemisphere, I use this resource to encourage winter reading in an alternative format. It’s a shame the text reminders don’t extend this far…

    1. afadmin

Yes, I’m afraid the text service only works in the US and Canada! They can sign up by email, however!

  22. J.J. Johnson

Fantastic resource! I’ll definitely share this info with my readers and author friends.

    1. afadmin

      Thanks for sharing!

  23. Marketing

I will right away snatch your rss as I can not to find your email subscription hyperlink or e-newsletter service. Do you have any? Please allow me realize in order that I may subscribe. Thanks.

  24. Sara

So excited to see the list for this year! Passing it on to my librarian and teacher friends!!

    1. afadmin

  25. Miriam Kahn
