SYNC has many fine points including choosing titles that feature strong female characters. This week’s selections showcase women who have done extraordinary things. Be impressed and enjoy! CODE NAME VERITY—In 1943, Maddie and Verity are friends and part of Britain’s spy mission when a plane they’re flying behind enemy lines in France crashes. One perishes while the other survives. Hear their story from each girl’s point-of-view in this sad yet exhilarating World War II history lesson. Narrators Morven Christie and Lucy Gaskell offer outstanding presentations make this story come to life. Listeners will hear and feel the horror and almost unbearable experiences that these brave heroes endured. THE HIDING PLACE— In the Netherlands, watchmaker Corrie Ten Boom and her family helped Jews escape the Nazis in this TRUE story. As punishment, they were sent to concentrations camps. Amazingly, Corrie was freed by mistake!! She shares these experiences and explains how her strong faith sustained her. Narrator Bernadette Dunne is perfect as strong-willed Corrie and just as believable with each character. She also movingly conveys Corrie’s strong Christian faith which understandably faltered at times.

How do I get the free download? My local library does not use OverDrive so what do I do now?

Your library doesn’t need to use OverDrive. You can download the OverDrive Media Console directly. Once that is done visit our download page and download into the console. Visit our SYNC download help page for tips.
